Magazine + Branding + Logo + Illustration

To study how magazines are created I made a magazine of Studio Ghibli, a Japanese animation studio that was founded in 1985 by directors Hayao Miyazaki, and Isao Takahata, and producer Toshio Suzuki. Together they have created movies, commercials, and video games. Five of the studio’s films are among the ten highest-grossing anime feature films made in Japan.

I chose Studio Ghibli as the topic of my magazine because even though they are renowned worldwide for their films, after Miyazaki retires it is uncertain at this time what will become of the studio. My magazine would offer fans the chance to read exciting interviews of artists and directors. It can offer insight into their next movies and a place to sell merchandise.

The Studio Ghibli Park could also be represented in my magazine to promote it and increase visitors because many people do not know it exists since it’s in Japan. The articles I selected are meant to be educational but sided with fun content suitable for a younger audience as well.

This magazine was created for a class project, with no affiliation to Studio Ghibli. All images, logos, products, videos, and other copyrights or trademarks featured, mentioned, or referred to within the project are the property of Studio Ghibli.
