Half Price Books Rebrand
Project Type
Branding + Packaging + Infographics+ Annual Report
Half Price Books is a family-owned
chain with numerous stores across
the U.S. They were founded in 1972 by
Pat Anderson and Ken Gjemre. I drew
inspiration for the project from this time,
the 60s and 70s.
I wanted people to know the brand
history instead of just trying to sell them
something. They sell more than just
books, they sell a feeling of nostalgia.
Making their used products feel as
special as their new products was a
major goal in my process.
Target Audience: Genz + Millenials
Products: books, magazines, records,
cassettes, video games, board games
Type experiments
These are type experiments I did to find the best typeface and size for the catalog. The brand already has a nice typeface so I referenced their website to bring the look together and find the best size for the logo on the cover.
advertisements
I did an extended brand project for Cloak of some of the products they sell. This clothing drop has special material that reveals illustrations when wet. They are referred to as ‘memories.’ I took this idea and created three ads highlighting their water-changing abilities and keeping the same absurdist horror feeling to each one.
